Linear Measurements and Editing Tools Tutorial
Learn how to measure linear features and use editing tools to perfect your measurements.
Linear Features: Use this for measuring things like fences, pipes, or edging. Click once at the start and once at the end, and Launchpad spits out the distance (e.g., 22.6 feet). Custom Line Types: Choose from Solid, Dashed, or Short-Dashed line styles to differentiate between feature types (added in v1.9.0). Undo/Clear: Go back a step or reset your map with one click—no more starting from scratch over a tiny error. Move Tool: Grab any polygon or feature to reposition. Adjust as changes happen on site.
Custom Line Types
Launchpad Map now offers multiple line styles to help you visually distinguish between different types of linear features.
Available Line Types
Solid Lines: The default line style, best for permanent features like fences, walls, or property boundaries.
Dashed Lines: Use dashed lines for temporary features, proposed installations, or to indicate different phases of work.
Short-Dashed Lines: Short dashes are perfect for underground features, utility lines, or hidden elements that need to be marked.
